Great read. I was massively stuck and took me a long time to realize that my binge eating was a self-soothing mechanism

Yeah! It is for many people as it was for me! And it's totally normal - that's how our parents soothed us, and nutrition is a form of biological safety. So it's natural to develop this stress response/management mechanism. And when we are adults - we can develop new ones, like breathing, meditation, music, taking a bath, spending time in nature etc.

Now it makes sense why my grandmother would spoil me with food! To shut me up and deal with her own stress! Hahahaha

Pretty simple :) All parents know - food is the most powerful tools to make kids quite, at least for some time :)
